Grenada’s Neisha Bernard-Thomas Moves on to 800M Semifinals

As the jubilation continues in Grenada over Kirani James’ gold medal in the men’s 400m, another Grenadian, Neisha Bernard-Thomas, is doing her part for the country’s Olympic hopes.
Neisha Bernard-Thomas has now qualified for the semifinals of the women’s 800-metre race, with a time of 2:03:23. She finished sixth in her heat in London, just behind Kazakhstan’s Margarita Matsko Mukasheva.
While she faces a tough field, finished 13th overall among 40 competitors.
Bernard-Thomas, a native of St Patrick, attended Central Arizona College in the United States.
The seminfinals take place on Thursday, when Bernard-Thomas will be in lane 2 in the second heat.
