Following the five-month Bahama Mama exhibition, which explored the art of Bahamian women, a new initiative takes a look at the art of Bahamian men.

“Nurturing Brotherhood” is the latest show from the Public Treasury Art Programme, which converts Nassau’s Public Treasury building into a five-story gallery space.

The initiative will display work from some of the Bahamas’ most talented male artists, along with a concurrent mentorship programme for young artists.

Bahama Mama, the first PTAP exhibition, looked at the work of some of the Bahamas’ most talented female artists

The exhibition, which is being coordinated by Keisha Oliver, who also led the Bahama Mama programme, starts Friday, May 18 at the Public Treasury.

It includes works both from professional artists and local high school students in the Bahamas.

It’s the latest in a thriving art space scene in downtown Nassau, from the D’Aguilar Art Foundation to Antonius Roberts’ Hillside House.
