A Massive New All-Inclusive Resort Is Coming to Cancun This Summer

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 6, 2024

One of the largest hotels in the Caribbean is set to open its doors in the Mexican hotspot of Cancun, with the planned debut of the 1,743-room AVA Resort Cancun.

The property, the latest by the AIC Hotel Group, whose resorts include the Eden Roc in Miami Beach, the Nobu Hotel Los Cabos and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Punta Cana, has targeted a “summer 2024” opening date.

The massive all-inclusive resort will notably have exclusively oceanfront rooms, with designs by Boris Pena Architects that ensure panoramic views in every room, suite and villa.

It will also feature a 2.8-acre “sustainable” lagoon within the property.

“As the travel industry continues to rapidly evolve, we knew that our next project needed to seamlessly bridge the last few gaps left in the all-inclusive market,” said Ash Tembe of AIC Hotel Group. “AVA Resort Cancun does just that by bringing the most memorable aspects of a vacation to one place, coupled with some of the most exclusive experiences and programming that a luxury resort can offer. It really is a playground for vacationers of all ages.”

AVA will be located about 10 minutes away from Cancun’s air hub, which has been seeing record-breaking passenger numbers in the last year.

It’s not just about the rooms, though: AVA will have 17 different dining concepts, with everything from a Japanese grill to a speakeasy, along with a 22,000-square-foot wellness destination.

It will also be a family-friendly property, as AIC describes it: “a destination for kids to be kids, teens to be teens, friends to make memories and families and couples to be together.”

AVA is the newest band by developer RCD Hotels, whose portfolio also includes Hard Rock Hotels in Cancun and the Riviera Maya, along with the highly-rated UNICO 20 ̊87 ̊ Hotel Riviera Maya.
