American Airlines Just Added More Nonstop Flights to Belize

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 29, 2024

Lush jungles, sparkling coral reefs and a pervasive sense of adventure have helped Belize captivate travelers in recent years, with tourism continuing to soar to the destination on the Caribbean coast of Central America.

Now, it’s getting even easier to visit Belize, with several carriers ramping up service — most notably American Airlines.

American just doubled its nonstop service between Miami and Belize, with two daily flights operating between Miami International Airport and Phillip S.W. Goldson International Airport in Belize City.

American also recently ramped up its service between Charlotte and Belize, which is now operating daily.

The double daily flights to Belize will be running through at least August 2024, according to the Belize Tourism Board.

But it’s not just American. Canadian carrier Westjet is expanding its service to Belize next year, with longer service from both Calgary and Toronto.

And low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines is now offering a Saturday service between Denver and Belize, along with daily flights out of Houston.

The Belize expansion comes after JetBlue last month launched its first-ever flights to the country.
