Kimpton Just Opened a New Resort on This Caribbean Island

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - October 6, 2023

Kimpton has just opened its newest luxury resort in the Caribbean: the Kimpton Grand Roatan Resort and Spa.

The new resort, the first Kimpton-branded property in the Western Caribbean and the second Kimpton in the region (joining the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa in Grand Cayman), began welcoming guests at the end of last month.

The resort, set on the popular island Roatan off the Caribbean coast of Honduras, has a total of 119 rooms, suites, bungalows and condominium-style units.

The resort is located on Roatan’s West Bay Beach, with four restaurants, a destination spa and a centerpiece infinity pool at the edge of the water.

The Mediterranean eatery called Alera.

The dining program includes Alera, a Mediterranean eatery; The Drop Off, a beachside bar; Pos Cafe and Bar, an all-day spot for coffee and cocktails; and Sea Cat, another waterside eatery with “frozen drinks and ocean views.”

All of the touches that have made Kimpton a cult favorite for boutique hotel lovers are there: daily social hour in the evening; coffee and tea service in the morning; and even the inclusion of yoga mats in each guest room.

“Our hearts are bursting with excitement as we open our doors to share the beauty and warmth of Roatán with you,” the resort said in a statement to guests.

The property is currently running a Grand Opening special; you can find more at the Kimpton Grand Roatan Resort. That includes up to 30 percent off hotel, spa and dining packages at the property.
