Sandals’ New Caribbean All-Inclusive Will Have Overwater Villas

By: Alexander Britell - September 27, 2023

Sandals Resorts International is opening its newest Sandals in the Caribbean next year, with the debut of the new Sandals St Vincent.

St Vincent and the Grenadines will be Sandals’ ninth destination in the Caribbean; the property will be the 18th Sandals resort in the region.

It had initially been planned as a Beaches resort, but the decision was made to open the resort as a Sandals, set at the former Buccament Bay resort.

The new all-inclusive resort will be opening its doors on March 27, 2024, with reservations now open, the company said.

The 50-acre resort will have 301 rooms, and, notably, a collection of overwater villas called Vincy Overwater Two-Story Villas.

The decision to make it an adults-only resort is not a surprise, especially given the sky-high cost of airfare to the Caribbean that’s making family travel more difficult than ever.

“This resort is a dream more than two decades in the making – from the moment we laid eyes on Vincy, as the locals lovingly call her, and felt this sense of magic and wonder and awe so palpable you could almost touch it,” said Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International. “A true diamond of a place, she meets every possibility to deliver an exceptional experience worthy of her very site. Handpicked for its stunning location within an alluring west-facing valley, mere moments away from untouched cays, cliffside caves and coves, our guests will soon loll in the beauty of Sandals Saint Vincent and The Grenadines.”

The resort will have several “firsts” for the brand: Buccan’s, a communal-style restaurant with sharable platers; Imoro, a grab-and-go eatery serving healthy bowls; Three Jewels, a rum bar focused on Eastern Caribbean rums; and Parisol, an open-air beach club and kitchen.

The hotel will be anchored by a 300-foot-long linear pool flanked by cabanas and swim-up bar access.

The resort will naturally have a Red Lane spa as well.

It will be the first Sandals to open in the Caribbean since this year’s debut of the new Sandals Dunn’s River in Jamaica.

The resort will join a rarefied portfolio of all-inclusive resorts in St Vincent and the Grenadines, led by the Palm Island resort.
