Bolivian Ambassador to the Bahamas Diego Pary Rodriguez met this week with Bahamian Governor General Sir Arthur Foulkes, with the two sides discussing a commitment to protecting the environment.

The talks revisited a theme from the World Conference on Climate Change held in Bolivia in April 2010.

Rodriguez also met with several government officials and diplomats.

The Governor-General noted what he called Bolivia’s “stalwart campaign to create a generation of global citizens cognizant of their impact upon, and responsibility for the environment.”

He also said the Bahamas understood the critical nature of its relationship with the planet.

“Bolivia can be assured of the cooperation of the Bahamas in the campaign to protect our planet,” the Governor-General said.

Rodriguez, who presented his credentials to Foulkes at the meeting last week, is also the country’s ambassador to the Organization of American States, which will hold its 42nd Regular Session in Bolivia in June.
