This Dominican Republic All-Inclusive Is Going Family-Friendly

By: Dana Niland - May 2, 2023

The formerly adults-only Viva Wyndham V Heavens in the Dominican Republic is going family-friendly, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The all-inclusive resort in Puerto Plata on the country’s north coast is being “reimagined” as a resort for all ages.

“After seven years, and given the feedback we’ve received from guests hoping for a more all-inclusive experience, we decided it was time for a change,” said Amanda Santana, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Viva Wyndham Resorts. “We are delighted to welcome adults and children alike and help them enjoy a beautiful getaway.”

The 190-room resort is set in the Playa Dorada complex, which also includes an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr-designed golf course and several eateries and local attractions.

As part of the reimagining, the resort will have new “All Together Suites” designed or up to five family members; new family-focused dining concepts; a new Kids’ Club and “family-oriented entertainment.”

The resort has five eateries, along with amenities like a disco, a pool bar, a coffee shop and a beach snack bar.

The property’s all-inclusive program includes meals, snacks, cocktails and wine, Wi-Fi and non-motorized motor sports, along with other inclusions like a gym with a trainer, daily entertainment and a weekly artisanal market, among others.

“With this commitment to maximizing family experiences and drawing from the talents of our authentic, fun-loving staff, Viva Wyndham Heavens is a great all-inclusive choice for families and all to meet, reconnect and enjoy,” Santana said.

The Viva Wyndham portfolio includes resorts in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and The Bahamas.
