Delta Adding More Daily Nonstop Flights to Punta Cana, Cancun

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 30, 2023

Delta Air Lines is adding more flights to the Caribbean’s most popular destinations: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and Cancun.

Delta is adding a third daily flight between New York and Cancun, along with a second daily flight from New York to Punta Cana.

It’s part of a broader New York-Dominican Republic expansion that will include an increase to four daily flights to both Santo Domingo and Santiago.

The expanded airlift will kick off in time for the winter holiday season, according to Delta.

The extra flights are already available for sale, running between Dec. 16 and Jan. 7, 2024.

The carrier says it will be operating 20 percent more seats during the peak holiday season than it did back in 2022.

Delta says it continues to work toward a “full restoration of its network” since the onset of the pandemic.

Last year, Delta operated at 85 percent overall capacity.
