It’s Getting Easier to Fly Nonstop to Bermuda, Including From Some New Cities

Bermuda’s traditional tourism stronghold has always been the Northeastern United States. That’s not exactly a surprise; it’s a very short flight from important markets like New York and Boston, and travelers in those cities have for decades been a major source of tourism.

But in the last few years, Bermuda’s travel footprint has been expanding, a push that got a major lift with last year’s debut of the new boutique airline Bermudair, which has begun connecting Bermuda to a number of cities that haven’t typically been areas of focus.

The new boutique airline serving Bermuda just launched a pair of new nonstop routes to the Atlantic island, in a big boost for the destination’s connectivity.

That includes new service on Bermudair from Baltimore-Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport, which started on March 18; and nonstop flights from Orlando International Airport, which started this past week.

That means Bermudair is now flying to Bermuda out of Baltimore, Boston, Toronto, Halifax, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and New York.

It’s part of a surge in new airlift for the island, which includes relaunched flights later this year on JetBlue out of New York and one extended operation for United’s Newark service.

“We are thrilled to work with our airline partners as they introduce the most direct air routes to Bermuda in the past five years,” said Jamari Douglas, VP of Marketing, PR, and Communications at Bermuda Tourism Authority. “Early booking data is showing a further increase in travel to the island this year, and we look forward to reaching new markets, as well as continuing to welcome back our Bermuda loyalists. These flights provide travellers with quick and direct ease of access to Bermuda, offering a myriad of opportunities to come together and celebrate the joys, warmth, and beauty that the island has to offer.”

So what’s Bermuda’s flight network like right now?

A Low-Key, Lovely Adults-Only Beach Resort in Aruba

When Aruba’s Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort opened in 1987, it made sense for the hotel’s restaurant to be built in the shape of a boat shipwrecked on the sand: while Eagle Beach didn’t exactly resemble a desert island back then, it was far more deserted than it is in 2024. These days, the elegant […]
