Curacao Hotel Rooms Keep Filling Up

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 7, 2024

As Curacao continues to break arrival records, the island’s hotels keep filling up, according to new data from the Curacao Hotel and Tourism Association.

Hotel occupancy to start the year was 76.3 percent, well ahead of the regional average of 70.6 percent.

That was 2.4 percentage points higher than in January 2023, even with an 8 percent increase in room stock thanks to the recent debut of the new Corendon Ref at Mangrove Beach Resort all-inclusive.

Average daily rates are also going up: the average hotel room in Curacao has seen a 14.4 percent increase in rate, with an average of $281.40.

The data came from hotel analytics firm STR, which surveyed 16 local hotels comprising 3,030 rooms on the Dutch Caribbean island.
