LATAM Is Adding More Flights to Aruba

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 24, 2024

LATAM is ramping up its flights to the island of Aruba next summer, following its launch last year of the Lima-Aruba route.

The carrier is adding a fourth weekly flight between Lima and Aruba beginning in July, meaning flights on Mondays, Thursdays Saturdays and Sundays. LATAM is operating the service on Airbus A320 aircraft with 174 seats.

It’s a response to what Aruba Airport officials called the “remarkable success” of the new route.

The Lima route has become an important gateway from South America to Aruba, with travelers from Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil all taking advantage of the new service.

“We are thrilled to witness the commitment of the increased frequency of LATAM Airlines’ LIM-AUA service,” said Anne Meaux-Arends, aviation business development executive at Aruba Airport. “As a primary goal for our airport, we are dedicated to maintaining strategic connections and ensuring the long-term sustainability of this route.”

It’s a strong statement of the route’s popularity, given that LATAM only kicked off service within the last two months.

Aruba has been continuing to make a major push to grow tourism out of the continent.

“The Aruba Tourism Authority remains focused in our commitment in expanding our presence in the Southern Cone of South American markets as part of our diversification strategy,” said Ronella Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority.
