The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection Is Expanding Again

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 10, 2024

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, the luxury hotle brand’s ultra-luxe small-ship cruise line, is now taking reservations for its third supeyacht, Luminara.

The new boutique cruise yacht (or however you want to describe it) will be sailing in the summer of 2025, joined by existing yachts Evrima and Ilma.

Evrima first debuted in October 2022 in the Caribbean.

“In a short time, our world-class itineraries have attracted guests who are new to the category and interested in exploring new horizons and cultures with the assurance of The Ritz- Carlton brand,” said Tina Edmundson, president of luxury at Marriott International. “We are thrilled to have created experiences that redefine luxury cruising. Endless explorations await as we prepare to launch our second yacht, Ilma, in 2024, and our third, Luminara, in 2025.”

The 794-foot-long Luminara will have capacity for up to 452 guests across 226 suites, each with a private ocean-view terrace.

The brand’s superyachts include everything from a Ritz-Carlton spa to a “wine vault.”

“With Luminara, we are not just adding another superyacht to our fleet; we are expanding the horizons of ultra-luxury travel,” stated Jim Murren, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. “This growth embodies our unwavering dedication to exploration, enrichment, and the pursuit of extraordinary experiences for our guests. Luminara is an invitation to embark on remarkable journeys and discover the world’s most captivating destinations with unparalleled amenities and service.”

Ritz-Carlton’s entry into the increasingly popular small-ship cruise market was followed by Four Seasons’ plans to launch a luxury super yacht cruise line of its own.
