By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 24, 2023

The Turks and Caicos Islands is forecasting a strong winter tourism season, officials said this week.

Turks and Caicos has received almost 600,000 stopover visitors so far in 2023, a 6.35 percent increase over the same period in 2022, according to Experience Turks and Caicos.

Combined with cruise arrivals to Grand Turk, the destination has topped more than 1.4 million overall visitors this year.

Cruise traffic is up almost 37 percent in 2023.

“The Turks and Caicos Islands continue to appeal to visitors. Our multigenerational visitors are drawn to our beautiful white sand beaches, sparkling turquoise waters and barefoot luxury, said Turks and Caicos Tourism Minister Josephine Connolly. “As a multi-island destination, we have so much history, culture and natural wonders beyond Providenciales. We look forward to welcoming our visitors in 2024 to experience the intrigue and beauty of the Turks and Caicos Islands.”

Turks and Caicos has been seeing growing airlift in 2023, including new routes from Virgin Atlantic out of London and, most recently, a new route between Fort Lauderdale and Providenciales on regional carrier Silver Airways.
