American Airlines Just Relaunched This Nonstop Caribbean Route

Volcanoes, rainforests, beaches, UNESCO world heritage sites. The French Caribbean island of Martinique is one of the most diverse and fascinating destinations in the wider Caribbean .

And did we mention its also home to the best rum it the world? 

While Martinique remains an undiscovered gem of the region, it just got a whole lot easier to fly there again. 

, American Airlines just relaunched its nonstop service between Miami and Fort-de-France, Caribbean Journal has confirmed.

The service is be running twice each week, with flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

On Nov. 7, American Airlines will expand service to three times per week, with flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with that schedule in operation through Aug. 10, 2024.

American has also upgraded its capacity on the route, with double the amount of seats on each Miami-Fort-de-France flight. 

It’s a significant boost for an island that is still one of the best-kept secrets in the Caribbean, with the kind of infrastructure you’d expect to find in mainland France married with a remarkable blend of Caribbean personality and beauty.

Whether you’re exploring the charming towns like Le Carbet and Saint Pierre in the north, heading to the interior rainforest, rum-hopping at the more than dozen world-class distilleries all over the island or savoring cocktails at beach bars like the world-famous Petibonum, you’ll find a vibrant, welcoming, dynamic place to visit.
