Arajet Launches New Dominican Republic-Colombia Flights

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 23, 2023

South America has been one of the strongest source markets for tourism to the Dominican Republic, and now local carrier Arajet is adding a new connection to the continent.

Arajet just kicked off its new nonstop flights between Santiago de los Caballeros and Medellin, Colombia.

The new route will add about 740 weekly seats, with flights on Mondays and Thursdays.

“Colombia is the third country that sends tourists to the Dominican Republic and we are proud to be the first airline to link the Cibao International Airport with the José María Córdova International Airport,” said Victor Pacheco, founder of Arajet. “This route will strengthen the tourist and commercial ties between these cities and will benefit the economy of both countries.”

It’s the second direct route between Medellin and the Dominican Republic.

“We are pleased with this second direct route from Medellín, since our passengers will enjoy greater comfort, time savings, and connections to their destinations,” said Javier Benitez, manager of the José María Córdova International Airport.
