Cancun Has a New Pickleball Destination

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 19, 2023

Cancun’s newest luxury brand has debuted a major new amenity: a pickelball center.

The recently-rebranded Kempinski Hotel Cancun (best known as the former Ritz-Carlton, Cancun) has opened a pair of new pickleball courts, making it one of just a small handful of hotels in Cancun that offer the fast-growing sport.

The courts are available for guests on a complimentary basis; local visitors can use the courts by paying a rental fee.

“Pickleball has been reported as America’s fastest growing sport and an easy alternative for players of all ages. The pickleball courts at Kempinski Hotel Cancún have been designed to meet official measurements, ensuring an authentic and immersive playing experience for players of all skill levels,” said Rodrigo Arellano, Marketing Manager at Kempinski Hotel Cancún. “Whether a guest is a passionate pickleball enthusiast or a beginner, our facilities cater to everyone’s specific needs, while allowing them to take advantage of the additional amenities on property.”

The courts join a recently-renovated lagoon-side tennis court at the hotel. Guests can use tennis rackets, tennis balls and paddles on a complimentary basis.

The Caribbean is home to a growing number of pickleball options, most notably the broad offering of pickleball courts in the Elite Island Resorts portfolio.
