American Airlines and JetBlue are each adding more nonstop flights to Trinidad this summer, Caribbean Journal has learned. The expanded service will add more than 2,738 seats per week from the United States to Port of Spain.

JetBlue just launched a “redeye” flight from New York to Port of Spain, with service running until the first week of September.

American Airlines will be kicking off an additional daily flight from Miami to Trinidad, with the expansion running from Aug. 15 to Sept. 5.

“Tourism Trinidad is pleased to announce an increase in airlift fro the United States,” the destinations tourism board said in a statement.

The announcement comes after another major North American carrier, Air Canada, announced plans to relaunch its service between Toronto and Trinidad beginning this November.
