A New Luxury Hotel Is Coming to the Island of Grenada

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 23, 2023

When it opened its doors back in 2018, the 43-room Silversands Hotel was a game-changing addition to the hotel landscape in Grenada: a sleek, modern luxury resort that exemplified the island’s new tourism energy.

Now, Silversands is at again, as the hotel is planning another addition later this year: Grenada’s newest luxury boutique hotel.

It’s called the Beach House, and it’s a 28-key stunner set on a cliff behind Grenada’s Portici Beach.

The hotel, called Beach House by Silversands, will feature a combination of one-bedroom villas and two-bedroom suites.

This Beach House comes with a pool.

Those will include both cliffside and beachfront accommodations, according to the property.

Amenities will include a beachfront eatery and a spa, among others.

The property calls it the “epitome of intimate escapism,” and it seems to be a fresh concept for the Eastern Caribbean hotspot, with a look that reminds of a mix of St Barth cool with a hint of Polynesia.

It will be a new part of what has quietly become one of the Caribbean’s hottest luxury destinations, with an enviable collection of luxury resorts in Grenada ranging from the world-renowned Spice Island Beach Resort to the Calabash Luxury Boutique Hotel to wellness-focused hideaways like Laluna.

The island’s growing luxury positioning has helped draw a significant increase in travelers, particularly from the all-important United States market.

A recent report from the Grenada Tourism Authority showed a 39 percent increase in American arrivals as compared to the same period in 2019, before the onset of the pandemic.

The launch will come after JetBlue’s planned expansion of service to the island for the summer season, one that will include a second daily nonstop flight from New York City in the summer.

In other words, one of the best-kept secrets in Caribbean luxury is about to get a whole lot cooler.
