Four Seasons Names New Bahamas Resort Manager, Executive Chef

Four Seasons’ Ocean Club resort in The Bahamas has named a new resort manager, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

The property has tapped Jose Ortiz as its new resort manager; Ortiz was most recently at the Four Seasons Resort and Residences in Vail, Colorado.

“Jose brings a wealth of experience with Four Seasons in various roles, and his expertise will undoubtedly be an asset to our team,” says John Conway, General Manager of The Ocean Club. “He brings vast experience particularly in food and beverage, which will be a great benefit to our culinary and operations team as they continue to innovate and deliver extraordinary culinary experiences at our signature restaurant DUNE, and beyond.”

The Ocean Club also named a new executive chef: Jamal Small, a Bahamian native who had previously served as executive sous chef at the resort from 2012 to 2019. 

Small was most recently the corporate chef for Sysco Foods; he has also held culinary roles at properties like Baker’s Bay, Atlantis and the Marley Resort.
