The Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit (CHRIS) is set to kick off its 14th annual event in Florida this May, bringing together an unrivaled collection of the region’s top hotel and tourism executives.

“When high energy and deal-making collide, you get the vibrant market-leading CHRIS/Caribbean Hotel & Resort Investment Summit” said Jonathon S. Zink, chief operating officer for The BHN Group, one of the organizers of the event, along with the Northstar Travel Group.

CHRIS, kicking off May 22, is the Caribbean’s most important hotel and tourism investment conference. The conference immediately precedes a second important event, the Hotel Opportunities Latin America (HOLA) conference.

“Going on its 14th annual event,” said Zink, “we are delighted to be hosting CHRIS, as well as the 13th annual HOLA/Latin America hotel investment conference, at the brand-new Loews Coral Gables.”

The back-to-back nature of the two events provides a venue for the hotel investment community that is interested not only in the Caribbean, but also in Latin America, to conduct their business while in Miami. CHRIS and HOLA are produced by Northstar Travel Group in association with The BHN Group.

“From key investors to developers to hotel companies to lenders to advisors to tourism/governments, everyone comes together with a single purpose – to invest and develop hotel real estate in the Caribbean and Latin America,” said Zink.

CHRIS takes place from May 22-23 and HOLA is from May 23-25, 2023. Both events will be held at the brand-new Loews Coral Gables Hotel.

Zink said there are about 450 delegates expected to attend CHRIS. Nearly one in three delegates will hold the title of chairman, CEO, president, partner or owner, Zink said.

Nearly one in four companies are capital markets, debt and equity, or development firms, he said. Nearly 30 countries will be represented.

“We are fortunate to have many countries/destinations involved that are showcasing their investment opportunities,” said Zink, “and it is crystal clear like the beautiful waters of the region, that the Caribbean is open for business in a dynamic way.”
