Copa Airlines Is Adding More Flights to Curacao

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 25, 2023

Panama-based carrier Copa Airlines is adding more flights to the Dutch Caribbean this spring.

Beginning in the first week of April, Copa will be operating a total of six weekly flights between Panama’s Tocumen International Airport and Curacao International Airport.

In May, that will expand to daily service, according to the Curacao Tourist Board.

That will mean a 30 percent increase in seat capacity each week out of the Panama market, a key hub for travelers from across Central and South America.

“This is another great accomplishment for the tourism industry,” said Ruisandro Cijntje, Curacao’s Minister of Economic Development. “The increase in the number of flights of COPA Airlines gives Curaçao the opportunity to continue to expand the Latin American market. At the same time, this growth contributes to the diversification of our target markets”.

In a statement, the Curacao Tourist Board said it “looks forward to receiving more visitors from the Latin American market and sharing the beauty of our island with them.”
