Curacao is seeing unprecedented levels of tourism in 2022, and that number will only increase next year with a new flight expansion by JetBlue.

The New York City-based carrier is adding more flights from New York to Curacao in April, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Beginning April 6, the career will add two more weekly flights from New York’s John F Kennedy International Airport to Curacao.

That will mean a total of five weekly flights between New York and Curacao.

“This is a significant achievement in order to continue to enhance our tourism industry in 2023 and consequently give an impulse to our economy. These additional flights will contribute towards growing the American market even more, after a great year in 2022,” said Ruisandro Cijntje, Curacao’s Minister of Economic Development.

Buoyed by last summer’s debut of the Sandals Royal Curacao resort, Curacao has been seeing record-breaking tourism numbers for much of the last half of 2022.

That has been driven by a surge in tourism from the United States.
