Azamara Has a New Caribbean Cruise Ship

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 18, 2022

Luxury cruise line Azamara has a new ship coming to the Caribbean: Azamara Onward.

The ship has already arrived at PortMiami in Miami, where it will be home-porting.

Azamara Onward first launched operations in Monaco this past spring. It is sailing back-to-back Caribbean voyages this month.

Both voyages are 10-day Eastern Caribbean sailings.

In January 2023, the ship will be debuting in Central and South America, returning to the region for the first time since early 2020.

The company was sold by former owner Royal Caribbean to private equity firm Sycamore Partners.

“As a newly independent company, we have seen tremendous growth in Miami and beyond as we’ve doubled our international shoreside team, and we look forward to what’s to come for Azamara.”

Azamara is based in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, where it was established in 2007.

“Azamara has been an important part of our local community since its inception in 2007, and we are delighted to now welcome the latest addition to its fleet here in the cruise capital of the world,” says Daniella Levine Cava, Mayor of Miami-Dade County. “We are ready to welcome Azamara’s guests from all over the world as they embark on their dream vacations.”
