Shaggy and Sting are Partnering on Another New Album

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - April 24, 2022 - 7:24 pm

A pair of global music legends are at it again.

Jamaica’s Shaggy is partnering with Sting on another album, following their work together on the Grammy-winning 44/876 back in 2019.

The new Sting-produced album, which debuts May 25, sees Shaggy singing the Frank Sinatra songbook in a reggae style.

It’s called Come Fly Wid Mi, and it’s the product of what Sting calls a “crazy idea” he had while touring with the Jamaican legend several years back.

The album includes That’s Life, followed by Come Fly With Me, That Old Black Magic; Luck Be a Lady; Witchcraft; and Under My Skin and Angel Eyes. .

“I’ve always been a Sinatra fan,” says Shaggy. “As a child, Frank’s music was often playing in our house and on Sundays, all of the Jamaican radio stations would play the greats – Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, et cetera.” He continues, “It’s great to be working with Sting again. He’s the brother I never knew I needed!”

The pair will be holding a special one-night-only concert on May 26 at the Blue Note in New York City.
