Curacao Tourism Keeps Up Growth

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 16, 2022

Curacao’s efforts to recoup its pre-pandemic tourism production are headed in the “right direction,” according to the Curacao Hotel and Tourism Association.

Last month, the Dutch Caribbean destination reported 35,451 stay over visitors, about 69 percent of which came from Europe and 17 percent from North America.

That included 5,492 visitors from America, along with 593 Canadian travelers.

On the cruise side, Curacao welcomed 40 cruise ships and 43,601 cruise visitors last month, an improvement over January.

“Our progress to recoup our pre-pandemic production continues in the right direction,” the Curacao Hotel and Tourism Association said in a statement. “CTB foresees even better months ahead now that Covid-testing is no longer an entry requirement to visit Curaçao.”

Indeed, the destination announced earlier this month that it had waived pre-testing requirements.
