A New Glass Bottom Boat Trip in Grand Bahama

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 27, 2021

There’s a new way to explore the island of Grand Bahama, with the launch of a new Glass Bottom Boat Trip by the Underwater Explorers Society.

The company’s newest excursion in The Bahamas takes guests on a 90-minute journey on a 56-foot glass-bottom vessel across the undersea world of the island.

The trip includes stops at a barrier reef, the island’s spectacular “fish farm” coral reef, with coral heads, sea fans and sea turtles; and a final stop at Grand Bahama’s renowned “Shark Junction”; the latter is frequented by dozens of Caribbean reef sharks, some up to eight feet long — along with large sting rays, huge groupers and spade fish, among other creatures.

It’s the latest addition for the company, which has long specialized in aquatic excursions on Grand Bahama — and was the first company to offer shark diving on the island.
