More Ferry Service to the British Virgin Islands

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 3, 2021

It’s getting easier to visit the British Virgin Islands.

Ferry service has increased to the British Virgin Islands, in a boost for tourism to the destination.

There will now be two daily roundtrip ferry services between St Thomas and Tortola, the British Virgin Islands Port Authority announced this week.

Ferry passengers arriving and departing the British Virgin Islands must reserve a ticket with the scheduled ferry operator with their booking portal.

Ferry capacity is set at a max of 65 passengers per trip.

So when are they running?

All ferries will depart Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas for Tortola at 2:30 PM and 4:30 PM.

The Tortola-St Thomas ferries will run at 8 AM and 11 AM.

Ferries are operated by either Smith’s Ferry Services, Road Town Fast Ferry and Native Son Ferry.

The British Virgin Islands recently announced eased entry protocols for vaccinated travelers; the protocols took effect last month.

That includes a requirement that all visitors apply for travel authorization (you can do it here).
