The Grand Case Beach Club in St Martin Is Back

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - October 21, 2020

The French side of St Martin has quietly reopened its border, meaning all travelers (yes, including from the United States) can now return to one of the Caribbean’s most beloved hotels — the Grand Case Beach Club.

The beach resort in St Martin’s culinary epicenter has actually been open throughout the challenges of the last seven months.

“Since the 3rd week of March and the exodus of tourists, we have remained open…but varying degrees of accessibility,” Grand Case Beach Club Managing Director Stephen Wright told Caribbean Journal.

“The requirements of different nations at odds with each other made our desire to remain available to travelers and our often returning clientele a bit complex. Now, with Princess Juliana Airport operating and welcoming travelers who have met the St Maarten requirements, we are once again looking forward to seeing our many friends again,” Wright said.

Wright was named Caribbean Hotelier of the Year in the 2020 Caribbean Travel Awards.

The “relaunch” of the 71-room property to international travelers comes after the property completed a dramatic reconstruction following the storms of 2017.

And it’s a boon for Grand Case, the French Caribbean town that has long been one of the region’s most sought-after, authentic destinations.

So how do you travel to St Martin?

The island’s major airports is requiring all passengers to take and receive negative results of a PCR test within 120 hours prior to arrival.

All travelers must also fill out health declaration (stmaartenentry.com) and then receive a mandatory temperature check upon arrival.
