Marriott Autograph Collection’s Alaia Belize Reporting Strong Sales
Alaia Belize, the Marriott Autograph Collection’s first-ever property in Belize, is reporting strong sales amid the pandemic.
2020 sales will outpace 2019 with the oceanfront resort already reporting 28 sales as of October 3rd, Caribbean Journal Invest has learned.
The new resort, which is on track for an opening in the 1st Quarter of 2021, is a mix of studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and villas.
Within the last 45 days all of the villas and studios have sold out, according to Myles Newell of Waypoint Real Estate, which is marketing the project.
“We are very pleased with the ability to continue to welcome new owners to the Alaia family,” he told Caribbean Journal Invest. “Our sales strategy did require pivoting when the pandemic hit, and since then have continued to focus on clients who had already visited Ambergris Caye as the airport has been closed until its recent opening October 1st.”
Newell said the project had a large backlog going back six months of new clients who wanted to come and view the new resort.
“We are now working with many of these new potential buyers to schedule their visit to the island,” he said. “Taking all safety precautions and protocols into effect, this will allow us to begin a traditional sales program as opposed to being solely reliant on Zoom and other technologies to make virtual sales.”
Construction was only briefly delayed at the project during an industry-wide construction shutdown in the early months of the pandemic in Belize.
“We have been fortunate that we did not lose much time in construction and have stayed relatively close to our originally anticipated opening date. We are eager anxious to welcome our owners and hotel guests to the most exciting new property on Ambergris Caye early next year,” said Andrew Ashcroft, owner of Alaia Belize. “Owners and guests will be attracted to the project’s oceanfront location, modern design and finishes, resort pool, dining options, and the islands first rooftop pool and bar.”
Units start at $389,000, Newell said, with financing available.
