Low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines is set to launch new flights to Barranquilla on the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
On Nov. 18, Spirit will inaugurate a new route from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Baranquilla’s Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport.
“We are very excited to welcome Barranquilla to the Spirit family,” said Camilo Martelo, director of international airports for Spirit Airlines. “Colombia is a very important market for Spirit and we committed to continue growing in the country.”
The Barranquilla flights will run three times each week, according to the company.
Spirit first launched service to Colombia in 2008.
The carrier has already resumed four existing routes to the country, including flights from Fort Lauderdale to Cartagena on the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
