Trinidad-based airline Caribbean Airlines says it putting a major focus on social distancing and sanitization.

The carrier, which is still running service within Trinidad and Tobago, said social distancing practices were “in place” on its domestic operations.

Once international service resumes, the company said it would also practice social distancing at check-in, on board and other areas, continuing a global aviation trend.

That will mean “limited” passenger loads, according to the company, to ensure spacing.

The airline also emphasized that its sanitization practices were “above international standards,” with regularly-monitored air quality, high-efficiency HEPA filters and cleaning of high-contact surfaces before every flight.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that we’ve had to make changes to our operations and in-flight service because nothing is more important than the security, safety and comfort of our employees and customers,” said Garvin Medera, CEO of Caribbean Airlines.
