Carnival Relaunches Bahamas Cruises

Carnival Corporation’s portfolio of cruise brands has officially relaunched its cruises to The Bahamas.

Carnival’s three brands, Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises and Holland America Line, will make more than 250 sailings to The Bahamas through the end of 2019, according to a statement from the company.

Carnival Cruise Line has 41 planned cruise calls to Nassau and Carnival’s private destinations in The Bahamas, Half Moon Cay and Princess Cays, through  the end of September.

Carnival Cruise Line is expected to make 204 calls in The Bahamas on eight of its ships through the end of 2019.

Princess Cruises will be making 19 trips to The Bahamas through the end of 2019, while Holland America will be returning to The Bahamas Oct. 21, with 46 scheduled Bahamas cruises through 2019.

“One of the all-time favorite destinations for our guests for many years are our ports of call in The Bahamas, and it is important to spread the word that much of the country had no or little impact and is open for business and eager to provide great vacation memories,” said Roger Frizzell, chief communications officer for Carnival Corporation. “Cruise tourism is a vital economic driver for the Bahamian people, so we are excited to let travelers know The Bahamas welcomes them with open arms. For those in The Bahamas who have been impacted, our hearts continue to be with them, and we will continue to do our part in providing relief aid and supporting our long-time partners and friends as they work to recover and begin the rebuilding process.”

The company said the cruises would be “helping to support the country’s tourism industry and its vital economic impact on local businesses and people.”

The company’s Bahamas cruises had been paused in the wake of Hurricane Dorian, which caused major damage in Abaco and Grand Bahama but did not affect any of the company’s Bahamas ports.
