Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship is nearing completion, having emerged for the first time from the Meyer Werft ship building dock in Germany.

The new 1,100-foot-long Norwegian Encore is slated for completion by the end of September.

The ship, which will have a capacity for 3,998 guests, will officially be delivered to the cruise line on Oct. 30.

It will be christened on Nov. 21 in Miami, before launching seven-day Caribbean cruises beginning Nov. 24.

“To see the ship emerge from the shipyard is always one of the most exciting construction milestones,” said Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line.  “Our partners at Meyer Werft have been committed to our vision for not only Norwegian Encore, but for this industry leading class of ships, supporting our dedication to delivering our guests the best cruise vacation at sea.”

Amenities on the new cruise ship will range from the longest race track at sea (1,100 feet) from a massive 10,000-square-foot laser tag arena and even an immersive escape room.

Following its winter voyages, the ship will head to Bermuda and other northern destinations before returning to Miami and launching Western Caribbean cruises in December 2020.
