The PGA Tour Is Returning to Puerto Rico in 2020

The PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open will be returning again in 2020, the world’s leading golf tour announced this week.

Next year’s Puerto Rico Open will be held again at the Coco Beach Golf and Country Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, from Feb. 17-23.

It will be one of just three Caribbean events on the PGA Tour’s 49-event seasonal schedule, along with the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Playa del Carmen and the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The Coco Beach development is home to the soon-to-relaunch Hyatt-affiliated Resort at Coco Beach, part of a wider master-planned resort project announced earlier this summer.

The Hyatt-affiliated resort will reopen in mid-September; it will eventually be called the Hyatt Regency Coco Beach.

“Welcome back to Puerto Rico @PGATour,” Discover Puerto Rico CEO Brad Dean wrote on Twitter. “:Looking forward to another successful Puerto Rico Open.”

Last year’s event was won by American golfer Martin Trainer, his first-ever win on tour.
