Virgin Voyages Plans Big Focus on Music

True to the history of the Virgin brand, Sir Richard Branson’s new Virgin Voyages adults-only cruise line is planning a major focus on music.

That will include a full-fledged record shop aboard its Scarlet Lady cruise ship, featuring personal listening stations, limited-edition vinyl collections and a performance spot for live DJ sets.

The ship will have its own karaoke lounge called The Groupie.

The ships will also include a karaoke, gaming and movie lounge called “The Groupie”; a series of high-profile DJ “residencies,” from Mark Ronson to Marc Kitchen to Sofi Tukker.

Virgin also said it was developing a “Creative Collective” responsible for developing the background music across the ship and for securing DJs for the brand’s planned beach club in Bimini.

Virgin Voyages will kick off its first-ever Caribbean cruises in April 2020.
