Sun Country Airlines touched down in St Kitts for the first time this week — helping to set a single-day record for the destination in the process.

The first-ever flights from Minneapolis to St Kitts arrived on Dec. 22 — helping St Kitts see its largest number of flights and passengers in a single day — ever.

We are very pleased that as history is being made at our international airport Sun Country is part of that history,” said St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris.

The new flights also represent the first-ever nonstop service from the upper Midwest to St Kitts, according to Tourism Minister Lindsay Grant.

“We have given high priority to our relationships with the airlines and we hope that we will have an excellent relationship with SunCountry as we expand our airlift from the United States- our largest source market,” Grant said.
