Sneak Peek: The New Hodges Bay Resort in Antigua

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - June 17, 2018

By Alexander Britell

Tucked away on the charming northeastern corner of Antigua is a significant new hotel project for the Caribbean.

This is Hodges Bay, one of the most exciting hotels in the region in some time — and Caribbean Journal brings you an exclusive sneak peek.

The luxury property, which is slated to make its debut later this year, is a major step for Elegant Hotels, which operates a portfolio of seven luxury boutiques and all-inclusives across Barbados.

Elegant, which has been expanding significantly in Barbados largely by revitalizing existing hotels into sparkling, modern resorts — most recently with the debut of the Treasure Beach adults-only hotel on the Platinum Coast.

Hodges Bay is something very different, however — it’s a new-build, a spectacular, contemporary project that isn’t just an exciting property for the north coast of Antigua — but for the whole Caribbean.

Hodges Bay boasts a collection of 79 rooms, apartments and villas, including a real estate component, with a striking, modern design that’s one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful new resort properties.

Amenities include two pools, along with everything from a tapas bar to an upscale international restaurant, a full-service spa.

The pool scene will be a centerpiece of the experience, with both a stunning adults-only oceanfront infinity pool and a main family-friendly lounge pool with daybeds and VIP cabanas.

Antigua has become one of the Caribbean’s hottest destinations for hotel development, with an array of new brands coming to the island, including Waldorf Astoria, Rosewood and Best Western Premier.

And Hodges Bay is right at the forefront.
