Honduras Seeing Cruise Growth

It’s one of the best-kept secrets in regional cruising, and it’s seeing strong growth.

Honduras is reporting 5 percent growth in cruise passenger arrivals, compared to its performance in 2016.

That’s along with a host of new cruise ships coming to the destination’s ports, including Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Reflection, Viking Ocean Cruises’ Viking Sky and TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff, all of which have added Roatan as a cruise call.

Honduras is also adding a new port, the Amapala Cruise Port, which is currently under construction.

Amapala, which will be located on Honduras’ Tiger Island, will be the fourth cruise port in Honduras.
