In Grand Cayman, a Taste of Havana

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 25, 2018

One of Grand Cayman’s most legendary eateries is heading to Havana — for the night, anyway.

The Rum Point Club has unveiled new Havana Nights on Wednesdays this season, offering a Cuban dining adventure with Cuban dishes, classic Cuban cocktails and an authentic Cuban dance troupe.

The Havana Nights buffet at Rum Point will feature everything from Ropa Vieja and Pescado Criollo to brownie “cigars” and mojitos and Havana Club rum.

“I think the allure of Cuba, our close neighbor to the North, appeals to those who are not yet ready to make the trip, even though it’s an easy hop from Grand Cayman,” said John Buckley Rum Point Restaurant Manager. “An evening filled with the tastes and sounds of Cuba offers a sample of what people will experience in Cuba.”

Red Sail Sports is offering ferry service to Rum Point for Havana nights, with catamarans departing from Grand Cayman’s Safehaven dock at 5:30 PM.
