Delta has added two extra flights to and from San Juan to Atlanta this week ahead of the expected arrival of Hurricane Maria, the company announced.

Delta is flying 757 and Airbus A321 aircraft from the island.

Delta has also capped main cabin, one-way nonstop fares at $199 for flights from San Juan and Dominican Republic destinations including Punta Cana, Santiago and Santo Domingo, for flights through Sept. 21.

The carrier announced it was waiving fees for baggage and pets in cabin for customers traveling to and from San Juan and several other airports.

Delta has issued a travel waiver for passengers flying out of San Juan from Sept. 19-26, also covering customers from St Maarten, St Thomas and Turks and Caicos with tickets issued between Sept. 5 and Dec. 31.
