Southwest Airlines’ strong 2017 campaign continued in July, according to the company’s latest traffic data.

The company flew 12.4 billion revenue passenger miles in July, an increase of 6 percent from 11.7 billion revenue passenger miles in July 2016.

Available seat miles increased by 5.5 percent to 14.2 billion last month, up from 13.4 billion in the same month in 2016.

Load factor rose by 0.4 percentage points to 87.3 percent in July.

For the year, RPM is up 4.5 percent, a strong sign for a company that launched a major new wave of Caribbean flights at the beginning of June, chiefly out of its hub in Fort Lauderdale.
