La Cantina, the Happy Hour Spot in Gustavia

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - July 2, 2017

It’s just before sunset in Gustavia; the sky is orange and the boats are bobbing.

And if you’re looking for a happy hour, this is the place: La Cantina.

This is another side of St. Barth, particularly downtown: a funky, ultra-casual spot with a focus on tapas.

Set just a few steps off the harbor, La Cantina serves up a delicious mix of small plates, from traditional French Caribbean accras de morue to more inspired dishes like a marvelous fondue-style “roasted camembert” and Italian tartlets.

It’s a place to unwind after a long day of shopping, beaching or doing nothing at all.

Sunset in Gustavia.

And it’s an even better place to watch the sunset.
