Grenada Seeing Strong Tourism Growth in US Market

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 6, 2017

Grenada is showing strong growth in tourism from the United States, according to data provided from the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

The Eastern Caribbean tri-island state reported 45,304 visitors from the United States last year, a 10.7 percent increase compared to 2015.

That was among the highest rates of increase in US tourism of any destination in the Caribbean last year.

Overall, Grenada reported tourism growth of 2.6 percent last year as Canadian tourism flattened and European tourism fell by 5.2 percent.

The island has pledged to make a major tourism push this year and the US numbers are a very good start in that direction as the island’s greatest potential source of growth.
