Why This Resort Is One of Curacao’s Best-Kept Secrets

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 20, 2017

Curaçao has never been home to many large resorts, meaning the best places to stay on the island are usually tucked away, hidden from view.

And that’s precisely the case with one of the island’s best-kept secrets: the Morena Resort, which is now better than ever.

The resort, which is set next to Jan Thiel Beach, recently underwent an expansion project that added new one and two-bedroom apartments, along with three and four-bedroom villas, to the property.

The new units feature what the property calls a “modern design with splashes of reds, warm wood undertones, open kitchens and breezy balconies overlooking the resort’s tropical gardens.”

The property has also added a new saltwater pool, featuring chaise lounge chairs and palapas.

Morena is additionally opening a new restaurant called Mocca Cafe, slated to debut later this month.
