Curaçao Begins Work on Second Cruise Pier

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 10, 2017

Curaçao has begun work on the construction of its second mega cruise pier, according to the Curaçao Ports Authority.

The Tula Pier, which is located in Willemstad’s Otrabanda area, is a $43 million project.

The Ports Authority says the project will help keep up with increasing cruise demand.

Over the next few months, supplies, including cranes, 165-foot pipes and concrete will be delivered to Curaçao to build the pier.

The first batch of 50 pipes was slated to be delivered from China at the end of last month.

The port is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of this year, according to the Ports Authority.
