Sandals to Open $100 Million Hotel in Port Antonio, Jamaica
Sandals is working on a major new hotel in Portland, Jamaica.
The company has begun work on a $100 million redevelopment of the former Dragon Bay Hotel in Portland, with the property set to start operation in 2019.
According to Jamaican Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation Daryl Vaz, the five-star hotel will have 250 rooms.
The project will reportedly create 500 permanent jobs in the area, Vaz said in a Jamaican government release.
Jamaica has big plans for Port Antonio, which has been growing in popularity in recent years as one of the island’s more exotic locations.
