An important new music festival is coming to Kingston, Jamaica aimed at celebrating some of the country’s greatest art forms.

The first-ever One World Ska and Rocksteady Music Festival, presented by Sounds & Pressure, is coming to Kingston on Nov. 28.

Jamaican music legends Toots & The Maytals will highlight the event, which will be held at the Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre in the capital.

Other planned performers include The Skatalites; Soweto Ska Band; Marcia Griffiths; U Roy, Stranjah Cole, Brooklyn Attractors and more.

The festival will be followed by a symposium focusing on some of the significant contributors to Jamaica’s music, from Chris Blackwell to Ernest Ranglin.

It will be followed by a pair of documentaries on Jamaican music shown Sunday evening at the Jamaica Music Museum in downtown Kingston.
