The soon-to-debut Andaz Mayakoba resort in the Mexican Caribbean has named Lin Schatz as its new general manager.

The Riviera Maya property is slated to open in December.

“I am thrilled to lead the opening efforts here at Andaz Mayakoba Resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico and to be working at this incredible resort,” Schatz said. “The pristine, eco-friendly destination of Mayakoba itself is yet to be fully discovered and true to the Andaz brand, we are excited to showcase elements of the destination and local Mexican culture in all aspects of the property from local partnerships, unique design and art on the walls to indigenous spa treatments, local cuisine, area experiences, authentic hospitality and more.”

The resort, which will include 214 rooms (with 41 suites), a 10,000-square-foot spa and four restaurants and bars in the wider Maykoba development.

Andaz is a boutique brand in the Hyatt portfolio.
