Eastern Air Lines has announced a partnership with Paramount Pictures in connection with the new movie “Star Trek Beyond.”
In celebration of the release this weekend, the Miami-based air carrier, whose brand was recently revived after decades, has wrapped an Eastern 737-700 aircraft with Star Trek Beyond imagery, and will fly the cast, filmmakers and special guests from Los Angeles to the movie world premiere in San Diego.
“We are honored and excited to be part of the celebration around the theatrical release of the new Star Trek Beyond film,” said Edward J. Wegel, Eastern’s President and CEO. “Partnering with Paramount Pictures is part of our corporate strategy of working with world class partners, and we hope that this will be the first of many such partnerships.”
“It’s great to see another long standing established brand like Eastern Air Lines getting an amazing reboot, and aligning with another storied franchise like Star Trek,” said LeeAnne Stables, President of Worldwide Marketing Partnerships & Licensing at Paramount Pictures. “And, of course, all our guests are looking forward to their ride to the movie premiere on the big 737 outfitted with all first class seats.”
Eastern is currently operating charter flights to the Caribbean and Cuba, although it plans commercial service soon.
